What is ALPES?

Alianza Latina Pro-Educación en Salud (ALPES) is an alliance of concerned community members and agency representatives committed to improving the health and quality of life of Latinos living in Wake County

What is the mission of ALPES?

ALPES mission is, "To improve the health and quality of life of Latinos living in Wake County."  By carrying out our mission, ALPES contributes significantly to the quality of life orf everyone in Wake County

How can I become involved?

ALPES meetings are held regularly the 2nd Monday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wake County Public Health Center.  To be our guest, please contact Carla Mena at 919-613-5435 or via e-mail at ca.mena31@gmail.com.  For all other ALPES information, please visit our 'Links & Resources' page.

When and where does ALPES meet at?

ALPES meets the second Monday of every other month (February, April, June, August, October, December) from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Wake County Millbrook Human Service Center, located at 2809 E Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27604, which you can view on the map to the right.

Who is involved in ALPES?

ALPES is composed of Wake County citizens knowledgeable of the issues facing the Latino community whose skills, experiences, and interests promote quality of life for Latinos through education and community health services.

What does ALPES do to meet its mission?

Each year ALPES members undertake specific tasks that promote the well-being and quality of life of Hispanics in Wake County, such as, conducting HIV/STD education and screenings in Latino communities.
