Keep party-crashing germs out of your Super Bowl celebration by following these tips:
Follow the 2 hour rule! Throw away perishable leftovers within 2 hours if they have been at room temperature. Perishable leftovers include cut fruits and veggies, dips, meat, poultry, eggs and casseroles.
Arrange food on several smaller platters instead of one large platter. Keep platters in the refrigerator until time to serve and change platters within 2 hours.
Keep cold foods cold! Keep food cold by putting food dishes in larger bowls of ice. For party trays bought at the grocery store, remove the lid and fill it with ice. Put the tray on top.
Keep hot foods hot! Use chaffing dishes, crock pots and warming trays to keep foods at 140° F or warmer.
